Follows the experiences of a man stranded on the wrong side of the country who pushes his limits to traverse more than five hundred miles of devastated wasteland to return to his family.
As in the Chinese Proverb (Lao Tzu): "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" . This is a simply excellent, engaging, and disturbing discourse on life's journey. Perhaps the best book I have read this year.
Didn't like the protagonist. Author needs to do more research on many things he's writing on.
I loved this book - hooked me from the beginning and then I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I cried at the end by remained hopeful that Edgar finds his family but appreciate that he found his deep love for them through all the trials of their journey.
Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.
