Review of 'The Raven King' on 'Goodreads'

I wanted to finish this series that I started in my young adult phase, and Maggie Stiefvater still managed to convince me. This was a lovely book, carried by its characters and atmosphere. It doesn’t really stand out otherwise, and I unfortunately feel like it wasn’t a fulfilling ending to the series. Also, I’m rarely into romances but I was really curious about a certain one and Stiefvater didn’t wrap it up at all. It’s like she forgot :c Sad, and kind of an amateurish move.
Overall it’s nice and funny and light and quite YA. Good job Miss!

The head is too wise. The heart is all fire.

3,5. ¿El libro me ha gustado? Sí, mucho. ¿Me esperaba algo más de él? Bastante.

What a ride.

I grew up on young-adult fantasy. Then I fell out of love sometime in the past few years, but have lately found myself in a sort of renaissance.

The Raven Cycle series was one that hit many of my good buttons. It features an interesting main cast of characters that develop throughout the series - forming a family or codependency of sorts that was refreshing to read. There is friendship and love - lots of it, and also a lot of stumbling when it comes to navigating new dynamics in their relationships with one another. The supporting cast of characters were additional color to this bright world of Henrietta, Virginia.

The individual conflicts and overarching story were nicely paced, with alternating POVs to keep things fresh. The very sensible writing style of this author was a great way to bring out the quirkiness of both characters, setting …

Now that I finished the reread of the series I'm more excited for the spin off, but wow the author really put her whole heart and soul into crafting these characters and setting ( I can actually picture Monmouth, 300 Fox Way, Cabeswater,et.) ), I can only recommend trying out this series^^
