Review of 'Ordinary Grace' on 'Goodreads'

Written from the point of view of the thirteen year old son of a minister in Minnesota, this books covers the mystery around several deaths in a small town. Yet it is much more than just another mystery book. Instead, it is following the emotional and spiritual journeys of the characters as they struggle with these deaths. It almost seems like a book that should be used in a pastoral care class.

Grace, ordinary, and awful challenges the beliefs of many of the characters. A moving read.

I was not too impressed with the Cork O'Connor book I tried to read a few months ago but this was a beautiful book. I would give this story to anyone who was struggling to understand death. The characters are all endearing, and I felt a lot of love, forgiveness, compassion and even grace reading this book.

Review of 'Ordinary Grace' on 'Goodreads'

For a book that has a thread of mystery that pulls you through the pages, the author didn't skimp on character development. It ticked all the boxes - gripping plot, solid character development, distinct voices, a tangible setting. I also enjoyed that it took place in a preacher's home - and the dimension that added to it.
