Review of 'Once Burned' on 'Goodreads'

I really liked the lead female in this books smart, resourceful snarky and tough but not to a ridiculous point (Anita Blake shot everyone to prove I’m the toughest style).
She still made mistakes but they made sense and finally a female character who slaps someone and feels guilt and uses the line there is no place for violence in a relationship.
I liked it enough to start the second book straight away.
