Temple is trying to live one day at a time as she is living in a post-apocalyptic world, where zombies roam and the remnants of mankind seem to retain little humanity. She has known no other life and in this world she journeys to far-flung places. When she comes across Maury she attempts to set one thing right. If she is able to get him back to his family, it may bring forgiveness for some of the terrible things she has done.

I don't usually read Zombie Novels. But this one was recommended by a number of people as a quality Zombie Novel.

It does indeed go a bit deeper into the effect of living with the Zombie Apocalypse on the human psyche and the ending is pretty good.

But in general things are a bit too easy, the Zombies are really useless and easy to deal with, there's still allot of electricity and fuel to go around, communities are eager to take in new survivors rather than hoarding their meager supplies.

In addition while the greatest danger from the Zombies is being bitten, our hero's favorite weapon is a large knife, rather than something with more range like a sword, ax or speer.

While the characters where interesting the badly thought out world took me out of the story.

Would The Walking Dead really be that much different if, instead of zombies roaming the landscape, the danger was gangs of cannibals or other post-apocalyptic human threats? In my opinion, a zombie story needs real zombies, and the focus of the horror should be zombie-related, not survival-related. In other words, the central conflict of …
