Good decisions aren't always rational.
I've seen Housel's writing shared around from the Collaborative Fund, Twitter, and the WSJ, and it was always interesting and succinct. His brevity and ability to simplify complex topics is something to be emulated. This book is no different. You're encouraged to read the twenty short chapters however you want. He really gets people, and their struggles with time, information, and bandwidth. Nowhere is that more clear than in the first chapter of the book. He describes many different backgrounds a person can come from, and how that will influence their view on money. He goes further to have you imagine the scarcity mindset involved in buying lottery tickets. What an amazing place to start.
The premise is that your behavior is far more important than your financial savvy. The chapters cover topics like saving, investing, soft skills, ego and humility, broad patterns, narratives, sunk costs, etc.
