A LADY BY MIDNIGHT is the third book in Tessa Dare's Spindle Cove series and is the first book to feature a couple from the working world, rather than the aristocracy. Kate is an orphan who works as a music teacher in Spindle Cover, while Thorne is a Corporal in the militia.
A LADY BY MIDNIGHT is a little more angsty than the previous Spindle Cove book, as Kate's still dealing with the pain of growing up an orphan, and Thorne knows a secret about Kate's past that he's unwilling to share. For the most part, A LADY BY MIDNIGHT is a fun read, if less compelling than the previous Spindle Cove books.
