Shout out to my girlie Audrey for we have read this book together and it's a cute lil journey we've partaken in: two queer millennial girlies exploring queerness through the experiences of another queer millennial girlie!
It was shocking to me how much I could relate to Jill Gutowitz, a Jewish American born and raised in New Jersey - just mentioning this cuz I have... absolutely nothing in common with that. Points in common are just that 1) we are both lesbians, 2) we came of age in the 2000s, and 3) we were highly immersed in American pop culture and the internet. And it's crazy to think that I have more shared experiences with her than with many of the people I grew up with. Internet queer culture is a real culture, change my mind!!!
Reading this has been as hilarious as it's been heartbreaking - omg does this …

Reading this has been as hilarious as it's been heartbreaking - omg does this encapsulate the queer experience or what? Read it if you want a laugh but also a lil queer introspection moment - honestly get yourself a girl that can do both!
