Memorial Drive

What an absolute knock out of a read. So emotionally resonant, so raw and sad and inspiring and brave. I mean, there really aren't very many memoirs like this one written so close to the heart by a writer with such formal control of her language. I loved everything about this book and though the subject is a tough one it manages to keep a perfect distance so as not to wear out the reader.

不了解作者本人，但确实感受到了文字的力量。篇幅不长（甚至可以说非常短），却依然能让我共情，体会作者与母亲的经历。
看到继父携枪支进入球场，做好了杀死Natasha的准备，却因为作者的一句问候，当下打消了这个念头，当下我的第一反应有一丝逃离厄运的庆幸，更多的确实想到作者会不会觉得自己这个幸存者剥夺了母亲活下去的机会。本以为作者会在当下就提起这个心理，没想到之后才谈到这种自责，所以有些意外。
