From bestselling indie author Laura Thalassa comes the newly revised and edited first book in her smash-hit dark fantasy romance between a siren and the "bargainer" she owes countless favors to.

Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past.

For the last seven years Callie has been wearing a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she once received. Only death or repayment will fulfill her obligations.

Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer to make it happen. He's a man who can get you anything you want … at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects. But for Callie, he's never asked for repayment. Not until now.

When Callie finds the Bargainer in her room, a grin on his lips and …

I'm glad I got this through Kindle Unlimited instead of paying for it. It was quite an annoying read. I don't know why it's considered a "slow burn" romance when the main characters are obviously into each other from the start of the book. Minor misspellings were also mildly annoying, e.g. "wiley" instead of "wily", "who's" instead of "whose", as well as the huge quantity of slang. I dislike that the love interest can compel the main character to tell him her thoughts. The plot was ok but I like a little unexpected conflict in relationships as well as the story and there was very little of that here. I got the subsequent books on Kindle Unlimited at the same time as this one so here's hoping the next one is better or I'll have to return the rest unread which I hate to do.

Easy to read adult romance fantasy, it was entertaining but the romance did not pull through for me. Some of the scenes were cringey and the characters felt too stereotypical at times, but the thing that pulled me out of the romance a little was with their "past" scenes, when they met and spend time together and she was 16 like.. ok they did not even kiss but couldnt she have been at least in her twenties when she first met this ancient powerful fae king?? Anywayyy

Another pandemic read that I can't really get into. Too much angst for my taste, with plenty of supernatural – siren & a fairy, they're totally gonna bang, but don't worry, it's going draaaaaaaaaaaag it out for that build up – with some twisted repayment plan she owes the fairy for a bunch of favors (from where I'm stopping, mostly for companionship).

So, yeah, I bet that's going to totally turn out to be a healthy relationship...

Considering I "purchased" all three for $0, all I can really complain about is the time I spend reading it.
