Review of 'Ancestor' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

An excellent thriller about attempted genetic modification to create better hosts to grow human transplantable organs. It only loses points for hitting one of my pet peeves - the summary on the dust jacket gives away the first 75% of the plot.

There are details that are filled in, but when you know "XXXX goes wrong" from the start, and the characters are sitting around discussing "so, how's XXXX going? What, there's a problem?", it completely obliterates all tension in the scene.
