Bastian Greshake Tzovaras reviewed Headstrong by Rachel Swaby
Review of 'Headstrong' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
This book was done as a reaction to the NYT obit for Yvonne Brill and features a huge list of brief biographies about wonderful female scientists and inventors.
While the introduction states that some of the most famous women are missing (i.e. Marie Curie), there are still lots of the better known names around (e.g. Margulis, Franklin, McClintock in biology, Lovelace & Hopper for compsci). But you will also find lots of women you (undeservedly) never heard about, even when working in a related field. Discovering those people is lots of fun and each biography is a quick and easy read. Guess I will grab a printed copy for depositing it in our labs library.
