**IN THE BEGINNING, MAN WAS PREY. WITHOUT THE GODS, THEY'LL BE PREY AGAIN **

The old gods have fled, and the monsters they had kept at bay for centuries now threaten to drown the city of Valentine, hunting mankind as in ancient times. In the midst of the chaos, a serial killer has begun ritually sacrificing victims, their bodies strewn throughout the city. Ugh.
No ★/☆ rating because i shouldn’t hav started this in the first place.
I think i will go on reading recommended books without reading the blurbs, but here it didn’t work out.
To much the gods are real (even if they ar gone). OK, yeah. It’s in the title. Anyway. Also, too much (19th and) 20th century Earth technology. I was wondering why they would use snub nose (!) revolvers specifically in the setting. Is that supposed to be Earth? That doesn’t make sense. Idling¹ trucks and revolvers in another universe don’t make sense either. So, huh‽

——
1)Or not idling. One character says »›We have a truck idling outside‹«, and when they come to the truck, they hav to start the engine.
