Review of 'Golden Age and Other Stories' on 'Goodreads'

4.25 A couple of delightful short stories and some longer pieces like Dragons & Decorum (guess!) and the eponymous Age of Gold (dragon pirates!), as well as almost 30 drabbles. There's a mix of alternate universe pieces and extra scenes for (or in-between) the novels. The longer stories are very good and the shorter ones still pretty good. The drabbles are a bit of a mix. Each piece is accompanied by an illustration of varying, but mostly good quality.

My biggest complaint is that it is pretty short and since it is quite pricey to get as a phsyical copy, the fifty plus pages for the drabbles (always including an extra white page, feel quite wasted. Certainly worth the money as an ebook, but as a hardcover it's a toss-up. Shows nicely, why Naomi Novik is an asset to the fanfiction community, though.
