It's been years since I read Le Petit Prince, and now that I'm doing so again (for the third time), I'm not sure that I ever actually read it in French. Shame on me! As with every read, the fox's spiel about "apprivoisement," is the most touching, and it resonates with me more as time goes on. Saint-Exupéry makes a real mockery of us adults throughout the entire story, and it's important to go back to these touchstones to ensure that we don't take ourselves too seriously. Life is too short for bullshit, and this story is a good reminder of that fact.
