Meh, at best.

More of the manic pixie dream girl trope. I'm honestly tired of quirky girls for the sake of being quirky. Or for the sake of showing everyone, especially this one particular dude, how to be better while having absolutely nothing but I'm Really Quirky as their characteristic. Yawn.

Thankfully, though, it doesn't end with the guy getting her, but it does end with him still dwelling on her for years later. It's weird to have the end of the book be "I go back to the town, and I still ask people about her." Meh.

The protagonist is distinctly unlikable and has few, if any, redeemable qualities. Which is also common in all the hetero protagonists with MPD girls just flouncing around everywhere. And is massively boring. It's not interesting. Put a moratorium on this kind of story for the next five years, please.

Every other person is unlikable, too. …
