S01 E10 No small parts

🖖 Beta III, Landru, and an image from TAS on a PADD! So good. I love this show.
🖖 Oops! The secret is out. Because of a very typical Trek thing: the combadges do whatever.

🖖 Boimler on the Titan — what? Poor Mariner. Of course she‘s mad.
🖖 Ok, maybe this one is my favourite episode so far. It‘s filled with so much good stuff.

🖖 It took the show a few episodes to find its voice, which is totally normal. But by end of the first season it has found it for sure. And it's only getting better and better. Four more amazing seasons ahead on this re-watch. I'm looking forward to it.

I had started these notes months ago, but never posted them. Had to re-re-watch "Veritas" to finish them.
It's so great to be back in the LDS world. Fun, heart warming, lots of callbacks, great characters, in short: all the best that Trek has to offer.

S1 E07 Much ado about Boimler

🖖 The Dog! One of the funniest things in Trek.
🖖 OMG! A covert operation to plant seeds. 🤣 Of course this is a nod to Chain of Command. Hopefully this outing is more successful.
🖖 BTW, I like Jelico.
🖖 LOL! Boimler‘s phasing. Poor Boimsy.
🖖 The aproach of the Division 14 ship is great.
🖖 An Edosian! He clearly has fun.
🖖 Mariner is clearly overwhelmed with all that confidence Ramsey puts into her. It‘s hard watching her that way. We know her differently.
🖖 „We have two of everything,“ „Almost everything.“ 😆
🖖 LOL! A Warp 10 amphibian!
🖖 The Farm storyline is a bit… different than what we‘ve seen so far. It‘s dark and that one person actually threw Boimler out of an airlock! I kinda doubt he knew they had landed. But then again, it was all so dialed up and extra crazy, maybe that‘s just what we were meant to think.
🖖 Mariner‘s story gave us more insight into her character. She does not want to do what others expect of her (ranking up), but wants to make these decisions on her own. We see her self sabotaging in action with all the apparent mess ups. But we also see once again how capable an officer she really is.

S01 E08 Veritas

🖖 Uh oh! What is happening? And why?
🖖 Looks very Klingon trial as seen in ST VI
🖖 Red alert everywhere except the repair bay. For once the walls in a star ship are sound proof. 😆
🖖 Rutherford‘s adventure is very mysterious. That implant is interesting. Love the fan dance.
👂 So funny that they cover their round ears with the headband and only Rutherford‘s Vulcan ear is exposed. I love those konds of details.
🖖 „Tasha, no! the garbage bag‘s behind you!“ LOOL
🦖 Gorn wedding!
🖖 Tendi‘s story is so funny! I love everything about it. I think it‘s the first glimpse we get at what a badass Tendi is.

🖖 There‘s so much being set up in this episode.
🖖 I feel like now the show has found its way. A lot of things have been set up. If planned or not, we're going to see a lot again later.

Ok, let's do it: Let's re-watch Star Trek: Lower Decks. And let's do it together.

I'll start my full LDS re-watch this weekend and will go 2 episodes per week. I will post my thoughts for every episode and would love to hear yours too.
However, you do you! Join in on the conversation, or just watch along without posting anything. You do not need to even announce that you're watching along. There's also no coming late or falling behind. This is a no pressure situation.
Of course, first time watchers are welcome, too. However, beware of spoilers at least in my posts (which will all be behind content warnings).

I have only ever read one "choose your own adventure" book, but that was prose and worked with rolling dice. So I guess that's more a solo RPG than a "choose your own adventure". Anyway, with "Warp Your Own Way" you do not roll dice, but choose where to go yourselves; usually out of two, sometimes three options. The story gets pretty dark, like Star Trek does sometimes, but it is also hilarious like the tv show. It is a clever, well thought out adventure that I hope we'll see more of. And I'm sure this style of book would work for all Trek series. If it weren't a spoiler, I'd show you my journal where I have built a flow chart of all the paths there are and where they lead. After a while I needed it to remember where I had already gone and which options I hadn't …
