Aayush Kucheria wants to read The Order of Things by Michel Foucault
Aayush Kucheria wants to read Praise of folly ; and, Letter to Maarten Van Dorp, 1515 by Desiderius Erasmus (Penguin classics)
Came across this book in "Care for the Soul".
"The Renaissance humanist Erasmus says in his book In Praise of Folly that people are joined in friendship through their foolishness."
I'm somewhat drawn to this, I admire folly and foolishness as ways of being, and would like to explore this thread more.

Aayush Kucheria wants to read Orthodoxy by G. K. Chesterton
Read a quote from this book that I enjoyed:
"There are two types of things in life. Things that a person should only do if exceptional like composing an opera and things that everyone should do for themselves whether they are good at them or bad, like writing a love letter or blowing one's nose.
Democracy is simply the belief that the really important things (like running a country) fall into the latter category.

Interesting tidbits and perspectives, but sadly has a strong vibe of "this is what I think and I'm gonna find/frame evidence to support this".
Would have loved a more serious book engaging with these topics.
