For a debut ya fantasy, this did a pretty good job, developing characters and plot, in a post revolution setting with young characters that were victims and not actors of it, and are now as dragonriders directly involved in the politics and future war

The romance subplot was well done, as were the parts of the story with the dragons ❤

Review of 'Seven Days in June' on 'Goodreads'

I absolutely adore Eva and Shane, the character's work was amazing, I loved their romance, and the side characters as well as other themes the author wrote about, this had so many amazing quotes

Andrea Stewart: The Bone Shard War (2023, Orbit)

Review of 'The Bone Shard War' on 'Goodreads'

Well, I really like what the author did here, a brand new and fresh world and mythos, different povs that felt all interesting, developed characters through 3 books, the romance was also a great subplot and well handled, book felt long at times though but I really recommend this debut it's well rounded^

Gabrielle Zevin: Mañana, y mañana, y mañana (Paperback, Español language, 2023, Alianza Editorial)

I loved all the gaming parts, I felt like I "learned" a lot while it being very enjoyable to read, the characters by their stories and different ways of thinking brought a lot too, I felt connected to them, even though I did not cry at the sad parts so not that much connected maybe lol but I rec this very much to anyone really

Review of 'The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King' on 'Goodreads'

I like the writing from this author, there was a good mix of fantasy plot and romance but unfortunately i did not connect to the romance, don't know why lol but I appreciated some moments nonetheless,
Also enjoyed the bits about her complicated feelings for her dad, was too long though imo (maybe bc I was not behind the romance haha)

P.S : when you want to have a "catchprase", dont use it too much or it becomes annoying lol , I read the sentence "There she is" too many times

Sarah Adams: Practice Makes Perfect (Paperback, 2023, Dell)

Review of 'Practice Makes Perfect' on 'Goodreads'

Dnf at 40%, when the mc cried bc the man told her she was sexy and she said " no one ever told me that, im always the nice girl" and no, that's just not my style of characters and romance where I didn't feel anything really, kinda disappointed^^

I could see other people liking it though, because it has "funny" moments, and a quirky cute character, the male lead is not problematic or anything

Elaine Hsieh Chou: Disorientation (2022, Penguin Publishing Group)

Review of 'Disorientation' on 'Goodreads'

What a debut, it's so out of my preferred genres but the book was great at exploring many interesting subjects (in subtle and less subtle ways) through our main character Ingrid, you grow attached to her as she matures and root for her despite the author also showcasing her flaws, that made it more interesting imo

Also, after Yellowface, this one feels very complementary, I'd rec Disorientation plus the hot pink cover is so pretty haha
