It's been a long, long time since I've written a review this long. But, I feel that it was necessary. This book had my feel good and my feel bad moods. Love/hate. Ending let down.

1st: This is my very first Legal Thriller book, I've never given them a chance because I felt like they would be "boring."
2nd: I gave this a hard and steady shot.
3rd: I've looked at others reviews to see if I was alone on the fact that this book is too long for what it is. There is too much of Simon's side life going on, along with Netty's will, and all other legal things that could have been skipped. In a way, I look at this book/author being the Legal Thriller version of Stephen King lol While his books are AMAZING, he …

I was enjoying the book in the beginning then all of a sudden, the reactions and interactions of the characters started to feel immature and rushed. I loved the books I've read by this author and thought that I would love this one just as much but it fell short for me. The writing is great, it's fast pace, and easy quick read. I didn't like how she wrote some of the characters and this book is highly character driven. (This is solely my own opinion, someone else may find this book to be their favorite book).

Lisa Unger: Christmas Presents (2023, Penzler Publishers)

4.75 stars

This is an addictive & fast paced read. Grabs and holds your attention from page 1 and it's a quick read! I went into this knowing zilch about it and I have no regrets! It did give me some vibes of 'Listen for the Lie' as there is a podcaster probing up a terrible crime that the person was a victim of. Definitely a great Christmas Mystery/Thriller. Highly recommend!

This is a nice holiday thriller although, Christmas isn't a huge mention throughout the book. This reminds me a lot of Saw the movie. The twist was a shocker but that is also why it reminds me of Saw. I highly suggest this for Slasher lovers--> If you are easily squeamish, I would check trigger warnings as there are quite a few scenes with descriptive and gruesome gore.

This one was reeeeeaaallllyyy goood!! I loved all the new characters we got to meet and Sally is an amazing addition. I am officially addicted and need to MAKE myself slow down so I can read other books this month beside just this one series lol I am definitely having a ton of fun.

Book 2 is waaaaayyy better than book 1! Book 1, I believe was use to introduce characters and how Stephanie became a bounty hunter. Not saying that book 1 is bad, just liked it and didn't "love" it.

In this book you get a lot of Stephanie and Granny Mazur and I am tellin you, Granny sure is somethin! :D This is a fun book series psychological, suspenseful, and humorous.

“It's a ||||||,' Grandma said. 'Stephanie got it in the mail. It's a pretty good one too.” xD
If you know, you know. aha!

My mother-in-law and her sister suggested that I give this book a try to see if I like the Stephanie Plum series to continue. My answer is this:
The genre is definitely one that I haven't read much of and I was a little confused for awhile whether I liked the book or not... But the writing style is so addictive that I wanted to continue. I ended up liking the book all in all, I am still confused with myself on whether I truly loved it or not which makes me want to read another book in the series to be positive that I do. There is plenty of mystery and bounty hunting with lots of puns and humor.

The genre is considered Mystery, Humor, Chick Lit, Romance, and Crime. I did love Grandma Mazur and Vinnie's receptionist Connie is a sweet, tart, …
