Had wanted to read this in ages to get a feel for it as it gets mentioned so often. Of course, in today's context it reads a bit conservative and a bit dated but I am not disappointed. Hard to believe that this was written in 1960 (published two years later as it was hard to find a publisher). It feels like a bedrock for what has become (pop feminist) YA novels today.
