Excellent introduction to Jazz

I've always loved jazz, but never really looked into it. After a recent trip to a Jazz concert, I decided to dive in deeper and found this at Waterstones.

What attracted me most to this book were the chapter playlists that demonstrate areas the author was trying to introduce in the chapter. From Ragtime to free-jazz, I found all but a couple of the tunes and made them into Spotify playlists named after the chapter.

I really enjoyed this book, which didn't go into too much technical detail without leaving anything crucial out. Highly recommended.

Review of 'A Brief History of the Future' on 'Goodreads'

Fascinating story starting from the 40s and ending just before the "dot com crash". Although it may seem out of date, it's actually a very interesting story which only feels dated is some small parts.

Must read!

What a great read!! I'd heard kf these books, but never considered reading them till being pursuaded by my girlfriend who loved them. I started at the beggining, and now want to read all of them. Such a shame I'm so far behind. I loved the style of writing by Pratchett, but sometimes found the disjointed fashion of the writing hard to follow, especially after long breaks from reading.
That being said, I would highly recommend this book to both adults and children.
