Discovering the Fediverse. Also on Pixelfed as @lowwastetraveller@pixelfed.social

I love reading non-fiction, mostly on psychology, procrastination, science, minimalism, social and economic issues, history, feminism, or health. I can also enjoy a good historical drama or fantasy novel. Not reading nearly as much as I would like.

What an absolute waste of my money. 10 pages in and I realised I'm never going to get through the overly 'fluffy' language. Get to the point woman!

None

Although the book gives some useful tips, I did not care much about the writing style and the self-promotion of the author for his other books or programs. Although it's already a short book, it could easily have been 1/3th of the length and still convey the lessons.

Peter Thiel, Blake Masters: Zero to One (Hardcover, 2014, Crown Business)

If you want to build a better future, you must believe in secrets.

A good reminder of not losing sight of the bigger picture when starting a business. A short, quick read and a must for every startup founder or anyone planning to start a business!

Mark Manson: Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck (2022, Independently Published)

None

It's a quick an easy read, but if you have minimal self-knowledge this won't give you much enlightenment. Like many self-help books this book could have easily been summarised in 20 pages (already by just deleting all the 'fucks'). My advise: don't give a fuck about this book (except for some nice catchphrases which you can find in the many Instagram posts) and go read some Stoics such as Marcus Aurelius or Epictetus instead.
