An EXCELLENT three books, an an excellent introduction to Brandon Sanderson as a writer. I loved the structured magic system that it works with, and i love how it explores common themes in fiction and plays with them. You take down an evil ruler and save the world? Okay, well now the government is collapsing and everything is in chaos, what the hell do you do now? You have a prophecy that has been foretold for millions of years, constantly drawing you to a stereotypical sacrificial end? Well actually an evil force was manipulating the text of the prophecy all along to do your bidding and release him into the world to destroy all of you. EXTREMELY clever writing, excellent character building, emotional ending. I need to pick this trilogy up again.
