This book was decent. A little too pro-grind for me at times, but it also had a decent amount of realism and nuanced thought to counter some of that.

Music and romance
I decided to read a romance. I never really had before. And, since I saw this book by Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles that I had gifted to my wife, I thought, "Why not?"
Because of her musical background, it is filled with music references and true to life details about life on and off the stage. I love love and was rooting for the main female character, Jane, from the...Start (Pun intended). The story was fun and took some turns for drama that always helps a story along.

Did not leave me bitter
I heard about this book in another that I was reading. Since I've been wondering, "What are bitters and how or why would I use them?" I immediately went to find and read this. It did not disappoint.
This book is many things. It's a history book, a DIY guide for making your own, a basic recipe book, and a collection of recipe blog stores all rolled into one. In fact, that's probably the only negative about this book, it's too many different things.

Actually useful
Self help books are hit or miss, with a lot of misses and pompous practitioners. This has already made a difference and helped me quiet my scattered mind. I'm looking forward to growing with it and seeing what becomes possible.

I can hear Sagan's voice when I read this
This book is an education in scientific and skeptical thinking. It clears away many misconceptions one might have and even challenges ideas when you thought you agreed.

A meta verse of her own
Squirrel Girl and her friends get lost in the far reaches of the galaxy. They deal with poets and storytellers who make their lives more interesting than most of them would like.
