This was pretty good! It fits in quite well with his windup girl / water knife set, but with more YA fabric to hang the rest of the story on. It feel more optimistic about climate change than the setting might let on.

its neuromancer 2

Its interesting to see gibson circle back on his hit - this is very similar to neuromancer, but more grounded, and somehow set last year, or a few years ago even.

There is a minor grandpa vibes developing too. I don't think gibsons politics are bad, they just feel more visibly centrist than they were in the past.

After reading a few reviews, I'm gonna change slightly - The colonialist stuff wasn't clear enough on where it stood, and since it was written by a white british guy, I'm not gonna give it the benefit of the doubt.

I still enjoyed the texture and visuals of the book, but extremely couched recommendation.
