I did overall enjoy this as a fun horror read, and there were a few genuinely good scenes, but it reminded me why I gave up on Newsflesh partway through book 2. I really just don't like Mira Grant's prose or characterisation and it's distracting a lot of the time. The hunter characters are particularly bad, implausibly one-dimensional, but almost all of the characters are bad.
