I consider myself an amateur runner, technology enthusiast, and friend to all dogs. My reading habits tends to fall into some of those categories with a strong preference to non-fiction, but I'm trying to branch out more. I'm excited about the Fediverse and really excited to see we have a suitable option to track and talk about books.

I can't believe this really happened

Midnight in Chernobyl didn't hold my attention consistently throughout the book. I felt the strongest portions were the portions surrounding the accident in Pripyat. What an absolute mess! A Challenge to get into, but totally engrossing by the end

I had heard good things about the Apple TV+ series, Slow Horses. I wanted to read at least the first book to see if I'd be interested in pursuing it. I'll be honest, I struggled a little bit at the beginning. The near-constant jumps between the large cast of the Sleugh House made it hard to ground myself in the world. I stuck with it because Mick Herron has a way with words that I really enjoyed. The lack of chapters was weird, but I'm glad I stuck with it because once I got to everything coalescing in the last third I could not put the book down!
