Il modo di scrivere dà il meglio di sé dopo la prima metà del libro, nel momento in cui ci si abitua. Ho fatto comunque un po' fatica ad immergermi nelle prime e ultime ore di sto povero cristo

Romanzo per giovani adultǝ scorrevole e di forte impatto, ma capisco perché molti americani non apprezzino: vederselo obbligato come libro sul tema razzismo nelle scuole non mi sembra proprio il massimo, visto che se lo si analizza con minuzia cade talvolta nella narrativa del salvatore bianco.

This book convinced me that concept art is not what I'm currently seeking in life. Its depiction is probably truthful: harsh environments, crunch, demoralizing but overall satisfying in its own way.

I didn't like the structure of the book: there's more sketches of the writer than writing itself. When there's words, they're in a pretty big font. If I wanted an artbook, I would've bought something else. Plus in certain parts of the book it straight up feels like he's bragging about his own abilities at young age, sounding a tad ageist ("look at what I was able to do at sixteen; could you do this when you were sixteen? If not, well, you better get ready! Because if I have it so though in the industry with my skills, what are you gonna do?" kind of stuff).

Romanzo di formazione scorrevole e piuttosto significativo, ma bisogna sforzarsi di passare oltre a certe cose - traduzione in primis, che risulta spesso e volentieri forzata (proprio per come è fatto il testo originale, non perché sia una cattiva traduzione)

Una Sardegna magica quanto povera fa da sfondo ad un racconto di nobiltà patriarcale decadente - alcune donne si ribellano, talune accettano, tante soffrono.

Chiude il cerchio una spiritualità dai mille volti, fluida ed in continua trasformazione.

L'ho letto tutto d'un fiato e lo consiglio a chiunque.

this is way better than expected

Piacevole! Un breve ma interessante gioco letterario in cui amore e tristezza si mischiano tumultuosamente, per farci dubitare della realtà e di ciò che è stato veramente.

[italian] È un romanzo piacevole, che mischia parti da romanzo giallo all'astrattismo dell'amore e l'impossibilità di capire quest'ultimo fino alla fine. Difficile non medesimarsi in Andrea, che da una vita cercava il momento giusto per scoprire la verità. L'ambientazione è la ciliegina sulla torta - adoro i paeselli rurali, con il loro ecosistema ed il loro strano passare del tempo, diverso da quello delle grandi città.

[english] A cute little novel that mixes mistery elements to the abstract concept of love, and the interconnected impossibility to completely understand it. Andrea's hard not to relate to: continuously searching for a truth that bothered him since youth. The setting was just the cherry on top - I love little villages in rural places, with their own little ecosystem and their weird passing of time, different from that of a big city.
