My rating is definitely influenced by the fact that the book delivered something else than I was expecting. That wouldn't be necessarily bad, but I didn't find the actual content that interesting.

I'm pretty ambivalent about this book. On one hand it's clear the author has a gift to write in an entertaining way and there are some real life truths in the book. On the other hand the book as a whole doesn't hold together much and the style is blunt, sometimes too blunt.

A solid spy novel, realistic, believable. On the other hand there were very few parts which would make you keep reading even when it's time to go to bed.

I and this book just didn't click in. IMO quite a downgrade from the first book of the Servaz series. 2/3 of the book is quite boring, then it improves a bit and the story engages the reader more, but it's just the very end that is thrilling.

I haven't read such a well balanced book in a while. It has everything: great storytelling, character building, touch of historical events and by reading it you also learn a lot about the Afghan culture and the country.

This book serves a sort of explanatory role in the series. Quite mixed feelings about it. A lot of things from previous books explained. There is a lot of time traveling which is always tricky when you want to keep the integrity of the story and the author is getting a bit lost in it.
