Hmm, what to say

Um. I will continue on in the series. It was interesting. But let's see; the prose was... relentless. Like a pressure squeezing my temples. I can't say it was pleasant.

But now I feel obligated to continue. Like in homage to those traveled before.

@sifuCJC@bookwyrm.social It's an interesting one. I'm glad a read the trilogy but, particularly in the second and third books, I found myself having to Google things just to clarify what had just happened in the story as I wasn't sure what I'd just read. Not a great advert for the writing.

@KennyKravitz@bookrastinating.com Yeah, I have read some other Vandermeer. I like his devotion to the weird. But he can be a bit stale. I thought I'd get through this trilogy since it has such staying power. We'll see what I can get out of the second one!
