I'm mostly a sci-fi reader, preferring happy feelgood stories, and competency porn, but reading a lot of different stuff makes me happy :)

Misery porn with a good ending

I didn't enjoy the first 80% of this book, it kind of reveled too much in misery, violence and people being dicks to each other. The last 20% when the resistance finally had been building up and things got going it was a lot better.

I remember I got this book and was quite excited about it, don't quite remember why, but I'll start and I guess I will find out, it's a bit violent, and I haven't really gotten to like the characters yet, but there is still time.

Steve Miller, Sharon Lee: Carpe Diem (2003, Ace)

Fun science fantasy adventure

I just really enjoyed this story, I like the way it's written, and the characters, just a lot of fun. The characters are good, most people are trying to help each other, and there still is enough tension, Really had a lot of fun reading this one.

Nathan Hystad: New Threat (Paperback, 2018, CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Createspace Independent Publishing Platform)

A year after the Event, horrific memories of the vessels linger in Dean’s mind as …

Decently written fun book

I enjoyed this, not high literature, but well written fun little story that I enjoyed, there was a bit more time for slice of life stuff with the world set up, so this was fun, I think I have gotten the gist of the series now it seems like there is story, then a twist towards the end, at least there were in the first two, let's see how it will be in the 3rd :)

Steve Miller, Sharon Lee: Conflict of Honors (2002)

Sixteen-year-old Priscilla Delacroix was declared legally dead by her mother, High Priestess of the Goddess. …

Really enjoyed this obok

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did, but after the first chapter it just dragged me in, it's like a catnip book to me, extremely overcompetent people, being nice to each other, working on a spaceship, it's like the thing that I like the most, it's written well as well :) Just a lot of fun, that hit me very well, might be set and setting, I don't care I really enjoyed this.
