reviewed The Austere Academy by Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events #5)

Lemony Snicket: The Austere Academy (Hardcover, 2000, HarperCollins)

As their outrageous misfortune continues, the Baudelaire orphans are shipped off to a miserable boarding …

None

If anything, this book shows that help to the Baudelaire children will only present itself as kids their own age. And adults, at least the well-intentioned ones, prove once again to be totally unreliable, so unreliable and blind to simple facts you want to gauge their stupid eyes out and feed them to rotten soil in hopes that mother earth has better plans to do with them. After all, as stated by the academy’s motto, ‘Memento Mori’ which means remember you will die. Sadly enough, death doesn’t discriminate between a man and another’s intelligence level.
