This particular manga is a bit... interesting. There are a lot of times where it feels like parts of the story fell away, leaving a lot of awkward transitions between the different groups of characters. It's also not entirely clear why certain feelings are had: Why are people afraid of Demi-Humans? What happened to the main antagonist to make him research Demi-Humans with the fervour he does? A lot of the basic expository aspects are left out, leaving the audience without a hook.
