hard to describe how i feel about this book, it built slow all the way until the last third or so, and it has moments that are very relatable and also many moments that aren't. mostly because the main character is by design a super unlikeable person. but im reveling in the ambiguity and i don't mind it.

i feel so happy thinking about the experience of reading this book---the premise, the queerness, the eco-feminism, the sex-positive---and it makes me happy to think that this could be someone's introduction to soft sci fi.

The book dredged up my sense of loss as I read it, and it didn't resolve it, but it made me feel good about it.

Thanks to the person who recommended this as a staff pick at a bookstore in Richmond, VA...I don't remember who or what bookstore or where exactly :)

my first encounter with the 👑, ursula k. le guin. i remember really enjoying the thorough worldbuilding of the moon colony and the whiplash of then being thrown into a totally opposing environment. fun with atopias
