In a time when secrets and lies were the foundations of life, someone has discovered the truth. And they are going to tell.

Jules knows what her predecessors created. She knows they are the reason life has to be lived in this way.

And she won't stand for it.

But Jules no longer has supporters. And there is far more to fear than the toxic world beyond her walls.

A poison is growing from within Silo 18.

One that cannot be stopped.

Unless Silo 1 steps in.

satisfying conclusion, gives the characters (and the main character, the world-building) their due

This was a very satisfying conclusing to the trilogy. I was mesmerized by the first book and enjoyed the second, although I have to admit it was a slowdown, but things pick up again with this third installment. These are all long stories with a lot of chapters constantly switching points of view (maybe that's a good thing as there are plenty of people-will-be-idiots scenarios which had me thinking this could get aggravating) but the action really gets going toward the end so I was bingeing the last chapters and also wondering if I was mistaken, there are so many things going on this must result in a cliffhanger for another book. And really, I wouldn't have minded.

A very satisfying end to the series, Dust unwraps one more layer of mystery from the world created in Wool.

I enjoyed the series for its ability to add more secrets without contradicting the original premise. In Wool, we learn that there are more silos. In Shift, we learn that one silo is not just in charge, but vastly different in character from the others, and get some pieces of why the silos were built in the first place. In Dust, we finally find out the whole twisted tale of the silos, and the tale of sacrifice continues to a very appropriate conclusion.

Brilliant conclusion to the trilogy. Answers most of the questions but keeps a few to let you wonder.
I can't really tell if it stands well on its own, but as a conclusion it works really well and because you know the characters, places and problems it really speeds through actions and brings everything down to a poignant, yet hopeful, finale.
Really enjoyable read, with a depp reflection on human nature and fear and hate and also courage and kindness.

After the dark and depressing gloom of Shift, Dust is a breath of fresh air.

In Dust the story is moving again and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
The fact that you're not sure that they'll reach the end of the tunnel or if the light isn't in fact an onrushing train, is what keeps you at the edge of your seat all the way through.

A wonderful conclusion to the Wool trilogy.
