Molly Knox Ostertag has made a wonderful coming of age story set here in Nova Scotia and brimming with heart. This comic captures the sweetness of first romance and packs in secrets, ecological concern, and a a warm cast of characters. Ostertag's art has delighted me since her work on Strong Female Protagonist, and it's in fine form here.
I loved this graphic novel. The illustrations are so good and the story is unbelievably beautiful!
Extremely charming, thoughtful, and perhaps a bit too short to for some aspects of it to stick the landing, but a lovely time nonetheless.
Queer Selkies!!! I loved the story and the art is LOVELY, but I thought the ending was really sad, and that's not how I wanted it to end.
Well now, that was a lovely read with some lovely art.
It's predictable, yes, but I am a sucker for a selkie story, and a difficult romance.
This was so cute! I love the lesson Morgan learns in this and the easy way she is around Keltie. I love selkie stories and this one is done in such a nice way. Plus, I really appreciate that Keltie isn't drawn as skinny, but with a chubbiness that makes sense with her seal self. I really enjoyed reading this story!
