Fragments of an Anarchist Anthropology is one of a series of pamphlets published by Prickly Paradigm Press in 2004. With the essay, anthropologist David Graeber attempts to outline areas of research that intellectuals might explore in creating a cohesive body of anarchist social theory.

Un court essai « pour une anthropologie anarchiste » qui contient quelques passages intéressants mais que j’ai eu du mal à suivre. Je crains qu’il s’adresse plus à des anthropologues avertis qu’à un public non initié.

I am not sure this was David Graebers intention, or that he himself is aware of it now, but here we have basically the entire research programme he has continued developing ever since, in fragments. Some critics have pointed out that there are almost too many good ideas in the pamphlet, which are not unfolded, but I think this is an immense strength of the text and a generosity too. Tickles the imagination and encourages you to take the idea and go with it. The subjects of most of his books and articles are at least introduced or thrown out here.
