I read this book as a part of something called a bookring via Bookcrossing. This is what I wrote when I first read the book.
I received this book in the mail today. These Anita Blake books are coming at perfect intervals for me. I finish one and send it off and have time to finish another book before the next comes. I do need the down time from Anita. I don't normally read horror and am not used to the gore that Hamilton writes. Looking forward to reading this third book in the series.

This third novel in the Anita Blake series tones down the gore. Thank goodness! Hamilton's writing is also improving as the series moves along. I found this book easier to read than the first and second in the series. The writing flows better. Characters are getting more development. Since I read the synopsis …

Since I read the synopsis of the next several books at the back of book 2, I sort of know what is coming. Can't wait to read more of these Anita Blake novels. I may just break down and get on the waiting lists for them at the library. Maybe they'll come quicker that way. :)
