I haven't been reading many mysteries lately and I enjoyed this one. Full of vivid imagery and of course some unexpected twists and turns at the end.
Wow! A thriller page-turner. I had taken it along to read on a trip out of town, but had to stay up till 1am to finish it the first night!
Yes, some discrepancies, not Great Literature, and I would argue with several points that did not add up, but pretty fun just the same.
Important Note: As a lifelong professional reader myself, I can tell you that the Tarot references were NOT cheesy, and were, in fact, very thoughtful and well-executed. A rarity. While not entirely central to the story, I enjoyed that aspect.
A cracking good story! As usual with Wareβs novels, you need to ignore the coincidences and plot holes and just enjoy the thrilling ride
Good. Not as gripping as In a Dark, Dark Wood, but worth the read if you like Ruth Ware. Less based around the unreliable narrator, but still brings a good bit of in-the-dark narrator trying to find answers and uses it effectively as the protagonist tries to discover her family history.
