This wasn't a bad book, per se, but it was nowhere near as compelling as Starfish. There wasn't much of the undersea action that made the first book so interesting, it read like a fairly standard cyberpunk novel. The Guilt Trip behavioral modification treatment was an interesting concept, but it wasn't as intriguing as the wetware from the first book. I'll likely read the third book, but I'm not in as much of a rush to see where the story would go as I was immediately after reading Starfish.

It's the second book in the series, and like other middle parts of a story arc, this is a bridge story that end on a low note for the protagonists.

I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to reading the third book to see how the story ends.
