The surprise twist at the end was pretty predictable, but an entertaining read nonetheless.

Content warning Talking about some philosophical concept in the review. I think nothing major, but just in case 👌
I have been reading about Robert Langdon since I was around 15, and I have always thought how cool he was.
In this book, he once again enters the battle between religion and science, polemicising if the two could, should or must go hand in hand. I, personally, have a strong opinion about religion, but this book got me a bit excited about the concept of truly 'modern' religion, which hopefully can be supported by science.
It also got me thinking about the difference between religion and faith itself, and how nuanced those two are.
As a person who knows a bit about IT, I occasionally have a bad time reading IT reference texts. So I can imagine particular parts of this book being a little more challenging to people with a deeper IT knowledge.
Overall, I'm definitely not disappointed 👍and I hope I will be able to return to this book again sometime.
Brown is a guilty pleasure for me as an aspiring literature connoisseur. But it seems he's getting better. I enjoyed the ending and the premise. Beware the literary device of character-finds-something-amazing-but-the-author-doesn't-tell-you-to-keep-you-engaged; he uses it like 11 times. A pet peeve of mine.
Ok geschrieben, schöne Beschreibung von Barcelona.
This book was shit. I have read all Landon books, after I went through the Angels and Demons audio book and loved it. For me that is still Brown's magnum opus. All books before and after are crap. This one is as insufferable as Digital Fortress. A difficult read because it's just so bad. A big problem is that I know about technology and just can't look over the glaring issues. I think this was my last Dan Brown book.
