When archeological photographer John de Morgan mysteriously vanishes with a priceless artifact, Victorian adventuress Veronica Speedwell and her natural historian colleague, Stoker Templeton-Vane, are pulled into a dangerous world of conspiracies and ancient threats. The Treacherous Curse : 4 stars
For anybody reading this, in this series you have :
- A dynamic btw the main characters that is everything ahah
- Victorian England setting
- An investigation for our duo in every book
- Humor, drama, minor romance
I'm not a fan of mysteries but I keep coming back to Deanna's books. I really love spending time with the characters in the Veronica Speedwell series - and this book had all of the elements of them that I adore. At the same time, I wish these characters were in a different genre, the mysteries keep getting in the way of the parts I like best. It's not fair for me to rate this book poorly because of it, but for me I'd call this a 3 star book. I'm sure anyone who enjoys mysteries would rate this higher.
