Beautiful short stories. Genius. Breathtaking. Absurd. Stories that are written in simple prose, but that is what makes it so accessible. I love short stories that have a touch of absurdity in them as well, obviously without going overboard, and Salinger adds just the right amount.
A Perfect Day for Bananafish - Interesting narrative with subtle references to past events that leaves reader guessing (at least partially). Showing that depression is not always visible immediately or obviously
Uncle Wiggly in Connecticut - I feel disgusted by Eloise. Feeling all sorry for herself and taking it off on Ramona and her husband (Lew).

It's a really entertaining read and quite easy to get through. Some stories are better than others, but the good ones are real head trips.
Sometimes disturbing, but not really provocative. Often without clear ending, but only in a weak trailing-off, not with a purposefully lingering sense of anticipation.
