So, finally finished the trilogy. Yep, my final, but biased opinion since it's been years since I read these originally is that I so very much prefer the new version of Thrawn. Some of what he is in today's books is missing here, and to me being a fan of those, noticed it. But I also had to remind myself that this trilogy wasn't about Thrawn himself, which is why we would go back and forth to whatever Han, Luke, Lando, Leia, etc were doing. It was about all of them, with it being the original version of the New Republic trying to clean up the remnants of the Empire and the remnants of the Empire led here by Thrawn trying to restablish themselves - the original Aftermath trilogy, to compare to the new canon books. So, yeah, the ultimate story here was good, but not really one I predict …
