Fascinating about life during field research in Africa. However, also a bit of a slow read.

Exactly the kind of book I enjoy for falling asleep. Memoir of a smart guy doing interesting things. Not so compelling that I need to hear every word.
If you're interested in short stories about African culture, especially Massai, this might be the book for you.
There are far less stories about baboons and scientific research than I expected, but instead a feeling for East Africa in the 70s, 80s, and 90s is conjured.
I loved this book. Funny and touching too. I've recommended it to many people.
