There were a lot of moments in which I was just annoyed with this book. Kaz drove me crazy thinking he was beyond failure while getting his friends in trouble. Really, I wanted to throw this book out of my window. Still I really loved other parts of the story. It was a roller coaster ride in this aspect. Every part I loved was followed by one that made me furious... I was so frustrated at times that I really thought about not finishing the last 200 pages. But I am really glad I did eventually because the ending was plain amazing. Nonetheless, I don't understand all the praise this series is getting. Yes, it is fun (at times) but average at best. I also don't see why people seem to fuzz over the character development as it was also rather moderate.
All in all an enjoyable duology that could have used some minor cuts in plot.

What an adventure.

Crooked Kingdom continues the story of our ragtag crew, an adventure that takes place on their home turf. This review isn't going to be too long, but this sequel builds upon its predecessor. Same enjoyable characters, continued relationship development, and still the same fast-paced story. This felt more political in terms of the plot, while Six of Crows felt more adventurous due to the nature of setting.

Best of all? Wylan gets his own POV, a great addition that I felt was excluded from the previous book due to the amount of content with the other five characters. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring his past, and his own perspective about himself and his friends.

The only thing I didn't like? MAJOR SPOILER: Why did Matthias have to die? I didn't see the purpose of this, except to add a shock factor.

After all is said and done, I am truly sad to see this duology end. I will miss everyone dearly, which is how you know you've read a really good book.
