As it happened, I switched to this novel after giving up on Kim Stanley Robinson's [b:The Wild Shore|41128|The Wild Shore (Three Californias Triptych, #1)|Kim Stanley Robinson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1389155777l/41128.SY75.jpg|1400071].
There couldn't be more space between these two novels.
The role of Women for one, but the post-apocalyptic power dynamics as well. With Robinson making me cringe as people make bad choices while Johnson engages my empathy.
