I’ve never read anything by the author before, but they have a deft way of writing that looks like a bunch of rambling asides in the first book to add color, only to find it was in fact something intricately planned out to pay off in the third book.

I grabbed this to read when I saw that “Silo” is coming to Apple TV+, based off of this book series.
There’s some heavy-handed clues that haven’t paid off by the end of this book, but overall I can see why this series is popular.
