Sebastian Fitzek: Der Nachbar (Knaur) No rating

Pip Adam: Audition (Penguin Random House) No rating

A spaceship called Audition is hurtling through the cosmos. Squashed immobile into its largest room …

For the first half of this book, I thought I didn't like it, and kept dreading coming back to it. But it was worth it, because part 1 describes stuff that is essential to the other two parts which move much faster. I ended up loving this book. Give it a chance, guys.

Loretta Napoleoni: Power of Knitting (2020, Penguin Publishing Group) No rating

An engaging read and perfect gift for knitters: How our favorite craft empowers, heals, and …

I am pretty sure that some of the conclusions and facts here are a bit far-fetched (cultural history of knitting is not factually correct, for instance), but I've enjoyed spending time inside Napoleoni's head and thought processes nonetheless. Eugen Ruge: Pompeji (AudiobookFormat, German language)

Linda Codega: Motheater (Hardcover, 2025, Erewhon Books)

In a startling and nuanced queer fantasy set amid the beauty of an Appalachian mountain, …

I liked this book, and disagree with some reviews on this site that thought parts were less interesting or important. Sometimes, it shows that this is a debut book, but it's not in any way that is bad or distracting. I quite like the folk horror feel of it, and find the cultural history basis interesting.
